Music Wednesday

Those Brits are a curiously funky bunch, aren’t they? No one in the world understands American music the way they do. Ever hear any French rock ‘n’ roll? I rest my case. Here are two very different songs I’ve been hearing a lot lately on WEXT, the first a little blue-eyed soul from Welsh singer Duffy:

And here, in a ridiculously crude home made video, Lily Allen’s catchy, off-kilter single “Knock ‘Em Out”:

  1. Oh, I agree, Rob.

Pretty neat, too, that I JUST stumbled across Duffy for the first time a few days ago while listening to internet radio and was totally hooked into “Mercy”! It has been stuck in my head ever since. I grabbed that same video from YouTube and keep playing it when I need a fix.

Hadn’t stumbled upon Lily Allen. That one grows on you. Thanks!

  2. That IS messed up. (I can’t believe I watched it all the way through to the end.)

How do you FIND this stuff?
