To me, spending the afternoon in the kitchen is not work. I don’t really cook anything fancy, but passing the hours preparing a meal, having a beer or two, and listening to the radio, is my idea of a good time.
Like a lot of things we do for fun, you probably wouldn’t want to do it for a living. Toiling in a professional kitchen is serious work, no matter how glamorous they make it look on TV.
On the menu Sunday? Roasted chicken with pancetta and olives, pan roasted asparagus, and mushroom risotto. And just for the record, I clean as I go.
